Neon Inferno Release Pushed to November 20
Fans eagerly awaiting Zenovia Interactive's new retro-cyberpunk run-and-gun title, Neon Inferno, will have to wait a little longer. The creators of Steel Assault have announced that the game's release date has been shifted from its original October 2 launch to November 20.
The delay primarily stems from challenges with console certification and finalizing agreements for physical distribution. Sri Kankanahalli, Creative Director at Zenovia Interactive, explained the situation:
“The game is nearly ready, but unfortunately, we can't just press a button and release it. We had to factor in the schedules and certification requirements of multiple platform holders and physical distribution companies, as well as our publisher Retroware's busy autumn release schedule. We considered releasing the game on different days for different platforms, but ultimately decided that a simultaneous launch was worth preserving at all costs.”
Kankanahalli also assured players that this short delay would ultimately benefit Neon Inferno. The additional time will be used to further polish the game, aiming to make it as impressive as possible. There's also a possibility that features and content originally planned for post-launch updates might be included at release, making the game even better from day one.
About Neon Inferno
Neon Inferno offers classic side-scrolling action set against a vibrant, futuristic New York. Players control an ambitious couple from a rising criminal syndicate, battling rival gangs across various city districts to prove their dominance. The game supports both single-player and co-operative play, allowing friends to team up and tackle the neon-drenched challenges together.
The game is planned for release on PC (via Steam), PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch, and will include text localization for various languages, including Russian. A demo version of Neon Inferno is currently available on Steam for players eager to get a taste of the action.
While delays can be disappointing, the promise of a more polished and potentially content-rich experience upon release suggests this extra waiting period will pay off for players looking for a high-quality retro-inspired action game.
