Vi Enters the Arena in Riot Games' 2XKO

Riot Games has officially announced that Vi, the Piltover Enforcer from the popular Arcane series and League of Legends, will be the eighth playable character in their upcoming fighting game, 2XKO. Fans can get a first look at her aggressive combat style in a new gameplay trailer, hinting at the fast-paced action she brings to the roster.

Along with Vi's reveal, Riot Games also confirmed plans for a new closed beta test for 2XKO, exclusively for PC players. This highly anticipated testing phase is set to begin globally on September 9th.

Get Ready for the Closed Beta

For those eager to jump into the action, the closed PC beta will welcome back all participants from the previous Alpha Lab tests automatically. New players will also have the chance to join, with invitations being sent out at the beta's launch and continuously throughout its duration. Interested fighters can submit their applications via the official 2XKO website to secure a spot.

A significant detail for the beta is Riot's commitment to keeping the game's servers online once the test begins, right up until the full game's release. This means players won't experience downtime between test phases. Furthermore, 2XKO will support cross-progression, allowing players to seamlessly continue their progress on consoles once the game becomes available on those platforms.

Developers noted that this upcoming beta will feature a more scaled-up backend system. While this expansion is crucial for development, players might encounter minor connectivity or performance issues during the initial stages as systems are continuously adjusted and optimized.

Vi's Signature Aggression

As showcased in the new gameplay video, Vi's combat style is all about relentless offense. Players who enjoy an aggressive approach will find her a perfect fit, as she excels at dodging incoming attacks and unleashing a barrage of powerful punches, leaving opponents little room to breathe. Her arsenal includes area-of-effect damage and the ability to launch opponents into the air, setting them up for devastating combos. Of course, Vi's iconic Hextech Gauntlets are central to her moveset, delivering the heavy impact fans expect.

Players will have the opportunity to try out Vi during the upcoming September beta. For those attending, Vi will also be playable at EVO 2025, taking place from August 1st to 3rd in Las Vegas.

Looking Ahead to 2XKO's Launch

2XKO is currently slated for release by the end of 2025, launching on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While a precise release date has yet to be announced, Riot Games aims to have a roster of ten unique fighters ready for the game's official debut. The ongoing beta tests are a crucial step in preparing the game and its diverse cast for its full launch, giving players an early taste of the high-energy combat to come.
