Terminator 2D: No Fate Shifts Release to October 31

Fans eager for the retro-inspired pixel-art action of Terminator 2D: No Fate will need to wait a little longer. Publisher Reef Entertainment and developer Bitmap Bureau have announced that the game, originally slated for a September 5 launch, will now arrive on October 31.

Reasons Behind the Delay

The primary reason for the delay, as explained by the developers, is the unexpectedly prolonged process of preparing physical retail copies. This coordination and production proved more time-consuming than initially anticipated.

Reef Entertainment issued a statement, apologizing for the inconvenience: "The process of coordinating and producing physical copies turned out to be longer than we expected, and therefore we had to delay the release. We apologize and thank you for your patience."

This extended timeline will also grant Bitmap Bureau valuable extra time to apply final polish and prepare a day-one patch, ensuring that players receive the best possible version of T2D right from the start. The delay affects both digital and physical editions of the game.

"Since the announcement of T2D, we have received incredible support—this is truly inspiring. Thank you for your interest in the game. We understand that this news will disappoint many, and we appreciate your understanding," the publisher added.

About Terminator 2D: No Fate

Terminator 2D: No Fate aims to translate the iconic film "Terminator 2: Judgment Day" into a classic 2D arcade action experience with a pixel-art aesthetic. Players will revisit familiar scenes from the movie while also discovering new story twists and multiple endings.

The game centers around the beloved characters of Sarah Connor, the T-800, and John Connor, as they battle against the relentless T-1000 and the forces of Skynet. Gameplay promises a mix of action, stealth segments, high-stakes escapes, and epic boss battles. Players can dive into various modes, including a Story mode, an "Endless" mode, "Boss Battle" challenges, and a training area.

Visually, the game boasts stylish pixel animation, complemented by a re-orchestrated soundtrack inspired by the original "Terminator 2" score.

Upon its release, Terminator 2D: No Fate will be available on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), Xbox consoles, PlayStation consoles, and Nintendo Switch. It will also include Russian text localization.

While delays can be frustrating, the developers' commitment to delivering a polished experience, especially when dealing with the complexities of physical releases, suggests a dedication to quality. Fans can mark their calendars for a Halloween launch, hoping the extra waiting time is indeed "worth it."
