Zenless Zone Zero Unveils “Unforgotten Dreams of the Past” Update 2.3

HoYoverse has officially announced the details for Zenless Zone Zero's upcoming Version 2.3 update, titled "Unforgotten Dreams of the Past," set to launch on October 15. A special developer livestream provided an in-depth look at the continuation of the main story, brand-new characters, exciting events, and significant game enhancements, including an entirely new area to explore.

New Agents Join the Ranks

Version 2.3 introduces a trio of new agents across its banner phases, alongside returning fan favorites:

• Lucia (S-rank): An Ether attribute Support agent and Etherial enthusiast, Lucia can enter a "Dream" state after accumulating enough points. This allows her to activate "Ethereal Veil," which not only boosts the maximum HP of the entire squad but also enhances their damage, either by increasing allies' piercing attack damage or triggering aftershocks. She will be available in the first half of the update.
• Yidhri (S-rank): Hailing from the Nightmare Cabin, Yidhri is an Ice attribute Destruction agent. Her piercing attack power scales with her maximum HP, and all her Ice damage pierces enemy defenses. Intriguingly, her damage output increases as her HP percentage drops. Yidhri will be featured in the second half of the update.
• Komano Manato (A-rank): This straightforward Fire attribute Destruction agent also sees his piercing attack damage grow with his maximum HP. He will be available in the first half of the update and can also be acquired as a reward through gameplay.

Additionally, the signal search reruns will bring back Vivian (Anomaly, Ether) in the first half of the patch, and Ju Fufu (Intimidation, Fire) in the second half.

Fresh Looks for Your Agents

Players can look forward to new cosmetic options. Komano Manato's "White Phantom" costume will be a temporary bonus, available for free to all players who complete the main storyline quests in Version 2.3. Furthermore, a new swimsuit for Vivian is set to arrive soon.

Unraveling New Quests and Activities

The latest update ushers in a wealth of new narrative and gameplay content:

• New Exploration Zone: Following the fall of the Exulting, Failyum has found a measure of peace. As the corrupted area shrinks, mysterious new locations become accessible. Members of the Nightmare Cabin, including Proxies, will venture into the "Exorcised Hills," an area known for its rich Lumite deposits and abandoned research facilities.
• Lucia's Story Quest: Players can delve deeper into Lucia's background in her personal story, "Strange Tale of a Lost Dream." All new agents will also receive dedicated Trust Events.
• "Unfinished Dream" Event: This unique event invites Proxies to connect with Yidhri's dream to piece together truths from the past. A distinctive gameplay twist allows players to control monsters and utilize their skills to combat enemies. Completing this event will reward players with the A-rank agent, Komano Manato.
• New "Critical Simulation" Mode: Test both your combat prowess and strategic thinking in this challenging new mode. Proxies will need to train multiple squads to overcome complex tactical situations.
• "Click! Snap! BANG!" Returns: The popular combat photography event makes a comeback with improved camera controls, new filters, and fresh frames for even more creative shots.

Additional Rewards and Character Enhancements

Beyond the standard 10 Cipher Copies and 10 Bangboo Tickets, Version 2.3 offers players an additional 600 Polychromes. A special sign-in event running from September 29 to October 14 will also grant players 480 Polychromes simply by logging in for seven days.

A significant highlight of this update is the "potential activation" for Soldier 0 Anby. This enhancement will provide a substantial buff to the character, including changes to her damage mechanics and optimizations to her basic attack combos, making her an even more formidable presence on the battlefield.
