Assassin's Creed Shadows Patch 1.1.1 Delivers Max Level Cap Boost, Free Quest, and Ezio Cosmetics

Assassin's Creed Shadows Receives Major Patch 1.1.1 Update

Ubisoft is rolling out a substantial update for Assassin's Creed Shadows today, with Patch 1.1.1 going live at 5:00 PM Moscow Time. This update brings a host of improvements, new content, and quality-of-life changes designed to enhance the player experience, from increasing character progression options to introducing new cosmetic items inspired by the series' legendary protagonist, Ezio Auditore.

Key Gameplay Enhancements and New Content

Among the most anticipated changes, Patch 1.1.1 significantly expands character growth and introduces a new quest:

  • Increased Level Cap: Both Naoe and Yasuke can now reach a maximum level of 100, providing players with more room for progression, build customization, and long-term engagement.
  • Free Quest - "Go with the Bo": A new quest will be added for free, introducing a powerful Bo staff weapon for Naoe. This weapon was originally planned for future DLC, but the development team decided it was "too cool not to share with everyone." Players will join Junjiro to meet a legendary Bo master. This quest becomes available on the same day the Claws of Awaji DLC launches.
  • Uncapped PC Cutscene FPS: PC players will be pleased to know that the frame rate limit for cutscenes has been removed, allowing for a smoother, more cinematic experience.

Expanded Shelter and Gear Progression

The update also focuses on deepening the base-building and equipment systems:

  • Shelter Upgrades: Each unique building within your shelter will now feature two additional upgrade levels. These enhancements promise valuable bonuses that accelerate shelter growth, improve crafting capabilities, and directly empower Naoe, Yasuke, and their allies, making them more effective in combat and exploration.
  • Time of Day Meditation: Players can now meditate to change the time of day, though this option is limited to either 6 AM or 6 PM.
  • Improved Scouts: Upgraded scouts will now be able to detect both viewpoints and Kakuregami buildings, making reconnaissance more efficient.
  • Advanced Gear Quality: Upgrading the forge to Level 6 will unlock new quality tiers for Naoe and Yasuke's equipment: Mythical and Artifact. Once an item reaches these new quality levels, it can be further enhanced through eight additional upgrade levels to unlock its full potential.

Ezio-Themed Cosmetics and Anomaly Rewards

Fans of the series will appreciate the addition of new cosmetic items inspired by Ezio Auditore, available through the Animus Hub:

  • The Animus Hub will feature a new pass with cosmetic items in the style of Ezio Auditore. This includes a skin for the kusarigama, a costume for Naoe, and even a hooded outfit for her cat.
  • To obtain these items, players must activate a "Project," close anomalies, and collect rewards. Note that new anomalies introduced with the Claws of Awaji DLC will only be accessible to DLC owners.

Bug Fixes and DLC Reminder

As with most updates, Patch 1.1.1 includes a standard array of bug fixes and stability improvements. For example, the tutorial will no longer repeat after unlocking Yasuke.

Players are also reminded that the Claws of Awaji story expansion is set to release on September 16th. While it was included with pre-orders, it can also be purchased separately for $25. The DLC will be available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store, Ubisoft Connect), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S, with Russian text localization confirmed.

What This Means for Players

This comprehensive update for Assassin's Creed Shadows significantly expands on core gameplay systems. The increased level cap and deep gear progression offer more reasons to explore and engage with the world, while shelter upgrades provide meaningful bonuses for long-term players. The free Bo staff quest and Ezio-themed cosmetics add exciting new content and a nostalgic touch, ensuring that both new and returning players have plenty to discover and enjoy as they continue their journey through feudal Japan.
