2XKO Servers Briefly Offline Ahead of Early Access Launch, New Teemo Trailer Released

2XKO Servers Go Dark Briefly for Early Access Prep

Riot Games' highly anticipated fighting game, 2XKO, is gearing up for its early access launch, but players will experience a brief server downtime before diving in. While the developers initially stated that servers would remain active until the early access release, plans have now shifted.

According to the studio, more time is needed to finalize preparations for 2XKO's early access debut. Rather than pushing back the launch date, Riot has decided to temporarily suspend online play. The servers will go offline on October 4th at 7:00 AM Moscow time (which is 4:00 AM UTC). They are scheduled to be reactivated just in time for the game's early access release on October 7th at 6:00 PM Moscow time (3:00 PM UTC).

During this brief technical pause, 2XKO will still be playable in offline mode. This means players can continue to enjoy local co-op matches or battle AI-controlled opponents, ensuring there’s still plenty to do while waiting for online services to resume.

Teemo Joins the Roster in New Gameplay Trailer

In other exciting news, Riot has unveiled a new gameplay trailer introducing the tenth champion to join 2XKO: Teemo. Don't let his small stature fool you; this enthusiastic and agile Yordle scout is more than capable of taking down formidable foes.

Teemo utilizes his signature darts and mushrooms to control the battleground. He also has the unique ability to create something akin to bushes, allowing him to teleport around the arena for strategic positioning and surprise attacks.

Players will be able to step into Teemo's shoes starting October 7th, coinciding with 2XKO's early access launch. The full version of the game is also set to arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S at a later date. As a free-to-play title, 2XKO aims to be accessible to a wide audience, bringing its unique take on the fighting genre to PC and consoles.

What This Means for Players

For those eager to jump into 2XKO, the temporary server shutdown means a short wait before online play begins. However, the ability to play offline ensures continued practice and exploration of the game's mechanics. The reveal of Teemo as a playable champion further builds anticipation, promising a diverse and strategic roster for players to master. This early access period will be crucial for gathering player feedback and refining the game before its full console launch.
