Trash-Themed Pixel RPG Kingdoms of the Dump Arrives in November
Indie studios Roach Games and Dream Sloth Games have announced that their highly anticipated and unconventional project, Kingdoms of the Dump, will launch this November. This pixel-art role-playing game, drawing heavy inspiration from classic SNES titles, promises a truly unique adventure.
The developers, two former cleaners, have crafted an imaginative universe where heroes reside among discarded items. Players will step into the shoes of Dustin Binsley, a brave trash can knight, as he embarks on an epic journey across the five and a half kingdoms of the Dump. His quest will see him facing off against a toxic army of grimelins, exploring perilous dungeons, and battling disgusting monsters.
Key Features of Kingdoms of the Dump:
- Turn-Based Combat: Engage in strategic battles against a variety of foes.
- No Random Encounters: All enemy encounters are intentional, allowing for more deliberate exploration.
- Platforming and Exploration: Utilize jumping and platforming skills to navigate environments, overcome obstacles, and uncover hidden paths, rather than simply hitting invisible walls.
- On-the-Fly Character Switching: Seamlessly swap between heroes during combat to leverage their unique abilities and strategies.
- Expansive World Map: Explore a vast overworld presented in the classic “Mode 7” style, reminiscent of SNES era RPGs.
- Unique Locations and Bosses: Discover imaginative settings, encounter memorable boss fights, and unearth numerous secrets scattered across the Dump.
PC gamers can look forward to diving into this quirky, trash-filled world via Steam. Please note that while the game will be available globally, it will not include Russian localization at launch. For fans of classic RPGs and those looking for a truly original premise, Kingdoms of the Dump offers a charming and nostalgic experience with a distinctly modern twist.
