Forge of the Fae Finds Publishing Home with Deck13
Datadyne LLC, a promising young studio, first announced their debut project, the pixel-art RPG Forge of the Fae, in spring 2023. Taking inspiration from classic SNES-era JRPGs, the game quickly caught the eye of retro RPG enthusiasts. Now, a couple of years later, the developers have exciting news: they’ve officially partnered with Deck13, who will serve as the game’s publisher. This partnership comes with a significant reveal – Forge of the Fae is now slated for release in 2027.
A Strong Partnership for a Unique Vision
Both parties expressed enthusiasm for the new collaboration. David Schooley, head of Datadyne, shared his thoughts on the partnership:
“We found a reliable partner in Deck13. They not only completely understand the concept of our game but also know the Japanese role-playing game market very well. We look forward to the journey ahead!”
Michael Hoss, Head of Product at Deck13, echoed Schooley’s sentiments, highlighting the game’s potential even at this early stage:
“Forge of the Fae is a perfect fit for us. Even in the early stages of production, the game is incredibly well-developed and shows the necessary potential. Working with Datadyne over the past couple of weeks has also shown us what an amazing team is creating this masterpiece.”
Journey into a World of Fae and Industry
Forge of the Fae transports players to a fantastical world inspired by 19th-century Ireland, infused with rich Celtic folklore. The story follows Fiora, an inventor on a quest to investigate a series of mysterious disappearances. Her journey puts her in direct opposition to a major resource-mining corporation amidst an industrial revolution and escalating conflict between humans and fae.
The game promises a deep and engaging adventure, featuring classic turn-based combat and challenging puzzles. Fiora won't be alone in her quest; she'll be joined by other heroes, each bringing their own unique abilities to the party. Forge of the Fae is in development for PC (Steam), PlayStation, Xbox, and Nintendo Switch.
