Hell is Us Demo Relaunches with Key Improvements
Fans of dark action-adventure games have a new opportunity to dive into the mysterious world of Hell is Us. Developed by Rogue Factor, with creative direction from Jonathan Jacques-Belletête (former art director for the Deus Ex series), the game previously offered a temporary PC-exclusive demo earlier this summer. Now, the developers have rereleased an updated version of that demo, making it available across all target platforms: PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
While the core content of the demo remains the same, Rogue Factor has implemented a host of significant improvements based on player feedback from the initial PC trial. These changes are designed to enhance the overall gameplay experience and address common concerns. Key updates include:
- An additional camera setting for more personalized views.
- New motion and turn delay settings, offering smoother and more responsive control.
- "Favorites" and "Archive" tabs added to the inventory for easier organization of collected items.
- A new difficulty selection screen, allowing players to tailor the challenge to their preference.
- Improved optimization, enabling PC players with compatible hardware to enjoy the demo in crisp 4K resolution at 60 frames per second.
- A brand-new photo mode, perfect for capturing the game's atmospheric visuals.
- Expanded localization, with the addition of French voice acting and new text localizations for Chinese and Japanese audiences.
- Refined combat mechanics: not all enemy attacks can now be parried, adding a layer of strategic depth.
- A new visual signal for parriable attacks, making combat cues clearer.
- New tutorial elements to help players grasp game mechanics more easily.
- Simplified target switching when locking onto enemies, improving combat flow.
- Various bug fixes to enhance stability and performance.
As before, this updated demo is available for a limited time, set to expire on August 28th. This gives players a crucial window to experience the refined combat and exploration firsthand before the full game's launch.
Set in an alternate 1993, Hell is Us plunges players into a civil war within the fictional country of Heïdia. Players take on the role of Remi, who returns home seeking his family and answers to a fragmented past. The game promises a dark adventure filled with mystery and personal discovery.
The full version of Hell is Us is scheduled to launch on September 4th for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players who pre-order the Deluxe Edition will gain access to the game three days earlier, allowing them to begin their journey into Heïdia on September 1st.
