Hollow Knight: Silksong Confirmed for September 4, 2025 Release

The long wait for fans of the acclaimed Metroidvania, Hollow Knight, is finally nearing its end. Australian developer Team Cherry has announced the release date for the highly anticipated sequel, Hollow Knight: Silksong. Players can mark their calendars for September 4, 2025, when the adventures of the nimble Hornet officially begin.

Hornet's Perilous New Journey

Familiar to players of the original Hollow Knight as Hallownest's fierce protector, Hornet finds herself in a completely new kingdom, having arrived against her will. After breaking free from her captivity, Hornet embarks on a dangerous pilgrimage. Her journey will take her to the very pinnacle of this new realm, where she will encounter a diverse cast of characters, face deadly new opponents, and confront spectacular bosses.

Refined Gameplay and Vast Enemy Roster

While retaining the core mechanics that made the first game a masterpiece, Silksong introduces a refined gameplay experience. Hornet relies on her trusty needle and innate agility, skillfully dodging attacks and piercing through enemies. The game promises a staggering variety of foes, with over 150 different enemy types for players to encounter and overcome.

Those attending Gamescom 2025 are already getting a sneak peek, as a playable demo is available at the Xbox and Nintendo booths. For the rest of us, the wait will soon be over.

Platforms and Localization

Hollow Knight: Silksong will be available across a wide range of platforms, including PC (via Steam and GOG), PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch. The game will also feature text localization for Russian-speaking players, ensuring a broad audience can dive into Hornet's new saga.
