ConcernedApe Confirms Major Stardew Valley 1.7 Update is in Development

Major Stardew Valley Update 1.7 Confirmed by ConcernedApe

Independent developer Eric Barone, widely known by his pseudonym ConcernedApe, has officially announced that a substantial 1.7 update is currently in the works for his hugely popular farming simulation game, Stardew Valley.

The initial reveal came during the recent Stardew Valley: Symphony of Seasons concert, much to the delight of attendees. Barone later confirmed the news via a message on social media, making the announcement public for the wider community.

“Okay, I spoke about it last night at the concert, and now that the cat's out of the bag, I'll confirm that Stardew Valley is getting a 1.7 update,” Eric Barone stated. He added, “Release date is unknown. There is no approximate release time either. But it will definitely happen.”

At this time, specific details regarding what new features or content will be included in the upcoming update have not been disclosed. Players will need to wait for further announcements from ConcernedApe to learn more about the additions this update will bring to the beloved game.

Ongoing Support and Future Plans

This announcement also reinforces Barone's long-term commitment to Stardew Valley. He has previously indicated that he doesn't view any update as definitively 'final,' hinting at continuous support for the game for years to come. Earlier this year, Barone expressed his sentiment:

“I don't want to definitively say the game is done, because I think I'll always have a desire to come back and add new things. I will probably still be releasing content in 50 years.”

This dedication ensures that Stardew Valley, first released in 2016, will continue to evolve and offer fresh experiences to its vast player base. While keeping Stardew Valley alive, Barone is also actively developing his next game, Haunted Chocolatier. There is currently no release window for Haunted Chocolatier, with ConcernedApe intending to take “as long as it takes” to complete the project.

For Stardew Valley players, the news of a 1.7 update is a cause for excitement, promising more content and reasons to return to their digital farms. Despite the lack of immediate details or a release date, the confirmation from ConcernedApe solidifies the ongoing support for one of the most cherished indie games of all time, ensuring its vibrant community has much to look forward to.
