Dying Light: The Beast Pushed Back to September
Fans eagerly awaiting the next chapter in the zombie-infested world of Dying Light will have to wait a little longer. Techland has announced a delay for their upcoming title, Dying Light: The Beast. Originally slated for an August 22 release, the game will now launch on September 19, pushing its release back by approximately one month.
The reason for the delay, as stated by the developers, is to allocate more time for crucial polishing. Techland understands that such news might not be welcome, but their team's experience has highlighted the immense importance of a strong first impression. In a statement, Techland explained that “just four additional weeks will allow us to refine the final details that create the difference between good and great.”
What Will the Extra Time Be Used For?
This extra development time will be dedicated to a range of critical improvements aimed at enhancing the overall player experience. Specific areas of focus include:
- Improving the balance of gameplay elements.
- Increasing the clarity and usability of the user interface (UI).
- Refining the quality of in-game physics.
- Polishing cutscenes and character animations.
These adjustments are intended to ensure the game meets Techland's high standards and delivers a truly immersive and smooth experience for players from day one.
Stay Tuned and See It at Gamescom
To keep the community engaged during this extended wait, Techland has promised to share regular news updates throughout the summer. Additionally, those attending gamescom in Cologne, Germany, which runs from August 20 to August 24, will have the opportunity to get a hands-on experience with a demo version of Dying Light: The Beast.
Dying Light: The Beast is set to release on PC (via Steam and Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Players in Russia will also be pleased to know the game will feature full Russian localization. This delay, while perhaps frustrating for some, ultimately aims to deliver a more refined and enjoyable game, hopefully leading to a truly great launch experience for everyone.
