New Painkiller Trailer Highlights Three-Player Co-op Demon Slaying

Get ready to team up and descend into the depths of purgatory! 3D Realms and Anshar Studios have just unveiled a new gameplay trailer for the upcoming Painkiller reboot, putting a spotlight on its cooperative demon-slaying action. This latest look gives players a glimpse of what to expect when taking on hell's hordes with friends.

The new Painkiller will support online co-op for up to three players, allowing groups to tear through waves of demons in fast-paced, brutal combat. The objective remains clear: stop the fallen angel Azazel's invasion of Earth and earn redemption. While teaming up adds a new dynamic to the classic formula, players are still free to brave the trials alone, if they prefer the solitary path to salvation.

This reboot promises to deliver the same intense, over-the-top action that fans remember, now enhanced with modern graphics and cooperative play. The developers are focused on delivering a visceral experience, keeping the core spirit of the original while adding new elements for both veteran players and newcomers.

Painkiller is set to launch on October 21 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. While the game will feature localized text for several languages, the full voiceover will remain in English, maintaining its original artistic vision. Pre-orders are currently open, offering early buyers the "Iron Crusade" skin set. A Deluxe Edition is also available, which includes a Season Pass for future content. This highly anticipated return to the demonic battlegrounds aims to deliver a fresh yet familiar experience, inviting players to confront evil head-on, either solo or with a few trusted allies.
