Fantasy Roguelike Absolum to Get Animated Series Adaptation

Absolum Game Set for Animated Series Adaptation Ahead of Launch

Even before its official release, the highly anticipated beat 'em up roguelike game, Absolum, is gearing up for a major adaptation. Publisher Dotemu and the creative team at Supamonks have announced that an animated series based on the game is officially in production.

Supamonks, the studio behind Absolum’s art direction and animation development, will also oversee the production of the animated series. The creators have assured fans that the adaptation will stay true to the game's core spirit. This strategic move aims to capture the attention of a broader audience, introducing them to the game's unique universe.

Julien Bagnol-Roy, CEO of Supamonks, expressed his enthusiasm for the project:

"We are especially excited about the creation of this animated series because Supamonks has been involved in the Absolum project from its very beginning. Our teams helped shape this universe from its first steps, and now the opportunity to turn it into an animated series feels like a logical and exciting next step in our work. This is a unique opportunity to add a new dimension to a world we already know so well."

As of now, specific details regarding the animated series' plot, episode count, or other production specifics remain under wraps. A premiere date has also not yet been announced.

Absolum is scheduled to launch on PC (Steam), PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch in just one week, on October 9th. The game will include Russian subtitles. For Dotemu, Absolum marks a significant milestone as their first proprietary project, moving away from third-party licenses.

Absolum recently featured in a demo impressions segment, receiving positive feedback. This animated series announcement adds another layer of excitement for players eagerly awaiting its release, hinting at a rich, expanding universe that goes beyond just gameplay.
