Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Reportedly Coming to PC and PS5 This December

Yakuza 0 Director's Cut Eyes December Release Beyond Switch 2

Fans of the acclaimed Yakuza series have reason to be excited, as a recent insider report suggests that the enhanced edition, Yakuza 0 Director's Cut, will soon be available on more platforms. First announced for the Nintendo Switch 2 during a major presentation in April and released as a timed exclusive for the console earlier this summer, it appears this exclusivity period might be wrapping up.

According to Polish insider Graczdari, Yakuza 0 Director's Cut is slated to arrive on other current-generation platforms as early as December 8th. The leak specifies that PC and PlayStation 5 versions will receive physical editions, a welcome prospect for collectors. Information regarding a potential Xbox release is less clear, with the insider suggesting it might be limited to a digital-only offering if it materializes.

Gamers won't have to wait long for official confirmation. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, the developers behind the series, are scheduled to host their traditional announcement presentation on September 24th at 6:00 AM Moscow time (which is 11:00 PM ET on September 23rd / 8:00 PM PT on September 23rd). This event is expected to reveal more details about their upcoming projects and could confirm the broader release of Yakuza 0 Director's Cut.

Yakuza 0 Director's Cut was created to celebrate the original title's 10th anniversary, bringing a host of exciting additions. Key among these is a complete English voice-over, offering a fresh way for Western audiences to experience the game's gripping narrative. The updated version also includes several new cutscenes, further enhancing the story, and introduces a four-player online co-op mode called "Red Light Raid," featuring 60 unlockable characters for players to enjoy.

Beyond the Director's Cut ports, the gaming community is also anticipating other major announcements from RGG Studio, including the highly rumored Yakuza Kiwami 3. Whether RGG Studio has more surprises in store remains to be seen during their upcoming broadcast.

For fans who missed out on the Switch 2 exclusive, this potential multi-platform release means they'll soon have the opportunity to dive into the definitive version of Yakuza 0, complete with its exciting new features and expanded content. It's a great time to be a Yakuza fan.
