Tekken 8 Patch 2.05 Corrects Female Character Models
Fighting game fans rejoice as Tekken 8 has rolled out update 2.05, bringing a host of adjustments to fighter movements and fixing various bugs. Among the most notable changes is the correction of a peculiar issue exclusively affecting the game's female characters, as personally confirmed by Tekken series producer Katsuhiro Harada.
The bug in question emerged following the release of the Beach Fun Pack DLC. It caused several female characters to have identical breast sizes, deviating from their unique designs. Harada explained that this occurred because the system mistakenly applied the same parameters to multiple character models. With the new patch, the characters' figures have been restored to their original, distinct proportions, ensuring each fighter maintains her intended unique appearance.
To illustrate the change, Harada shared comparison GIFs, though he cautioned that the difference might seem subtle in these due to fixed camera angles and flatter lighting. He assured players that the changes are much more noticeable and impactful within the actual game environment.
Asuka Kazama's Model Receives Refinements
Beyond the general female character adjustments, the update also specifically addresses the model for fan-favorite Asuka Kazama. Previously, her in-game model featured wider shoulders and a more substantial neck, making her appear larger and more muscular than her past iterations in the Tekken series. Patch 2.05 brings her closer to her historical look by adjusting her neckline, shoulders, and upper arms.
Harada also indicated that Asuka’s model will continue to be refined in future updates. He clarified that making too many modifications simultaneously can destabilize a character model, which is why her transformation will be a gradual process. This phased approach ensures the integrity and quality of the character model are maintained throughout the refinement process.
These detailed adjustments highlight the development team's commitment to character fidelity and player immersion, ensuring that every fighter looks and feels as intended within the brutal world of Tekken 8.
