Palworld Full Release Set for 2026, Developers Prioritize Game Polish
Since its immensely popular early access launch in January 2024, Pocketpair has been actively supporting Palworld with a steady stream of content updates. Now, over a year and a half later, the developers have finally set a target for the game's full 1.0 release, aiming for sometime in 2026.
In a recent video message, the studio summarized the content from previous major updates and shared their immediate plans for the future. As the game moves closer to its full release, Pocketpair intends to shift its focus towards improving existing game elements rather than solely adding new content. This means the upcoming winter update might not be as expansive as players have come to expect, though the developers assure fans there will still be some surprises.
"While we have many ideas for where we want to take Palworld, we also need to consider the 1.0 version. Beyond adding new content, there's a lot we need to fix before Palworld leaves early access. It's no secret that Palworld has its share of bugs and rough edges, and we want to dedicate time to addressing these," explained Bucky, Pocketpair's Community Director and Publishing Manager. "With this in mind, we plan to start focusing on polishing the game this year. The full release of Palworld is scheduled for 2026, and we believe that by taking the time to resolve these pressing issues now, the game will ultimately be much better."
He further elaborated on what this means for players: "This implies that we'll be a bit quieter towards the end of this year. It also means the winter update won't be as massive as previous ones. We hope our players understand that we are using this time to improve the game as a whole. However, this doesn't mean there will be no new additions; we've still planned some surprises for our winter patch."
Pocketpair emphasized that development for Palworld is not slowing down; quite the opposite. "Palworld 1.0 will be a significant milestone for us, and we plan to include a huge amount of content in that release update. We believe it's better to take our time and lay the right foundation now to achieve the best possible result. We are very excited about this and hope our fans will be too. We'll share more details about the 1.0 update in the near future."
Towards the end of the video, the studio also mentioned its newly established publishing division, which aims to help other indie teams bring their games to life. Pocketpair itself has several new projects in the pipeline, with details to be revealed over time.
Palworld is currently available on PC (Steam, Microsoft Store), PlayStation 5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S, including Game Pass. Text localization, including Russian, is supported.
