Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Launches Legacy of the Forge DLC and Major Free Update

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II Gets New DLC and Expansive Free Update

Warhorse Studios, the Czech developer behind the acclaimed RPG Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, has delivered on its promise, releasing the second narrative-driven DLC, 'Legacy of the Forge,' today. This new content invites players back into the world of medieval Bohemia, offering a fresh questline set in the bustling town of Kuttenberg.

In 'Legacy of the Forge,' players will guide Henry as he reconnects with old friends of his adoptive father, Martin, and inherits a dilapidated forge. The core of this DLC revolves around rebuilding this structure, assisting local residents with their various troubles, joining the local blacksmiths' guild, and ultimately earning the title of master blacksmith by repairing a complex clockwork mechanism in the town center.

Players can look forward to exploring Henry's childhood memories, meeting new characters, honing their smithing skills, and customizing their very own home and workshop. The developers state that Henry's personal forge offers an astounding 100 million design combinations, allowing players to personalize not only the workshop itself but also the surrounding area. However, merely having money isn't enough for these ambitious projects; a new 'Prestige' resource has been introduced to ensure balanced progression, earned by completing various tasks.

Global Update 1.4 Brings Free Content and Quality of Life Changes

Alongside the paid DLC, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has also received a significant free global update, version 1.4. This update brings a wealth of improvements and free content for all players, including:

  • Expanded Photo Mode functionality, allowing players to adjust time of day, light sources, depth of field, and more. Visual effects like intoxication and poison will no longer affect photo mode.
  • Streamlined combat for halberds, with all polearm combos now consisting of just three moves.
  • New sound effects for coins when purchasing indulgences.
  • A new fast travel point near Sigismund's camp.
  • Improved NPC navigation around chicken coops.
  • Fewer drunk NPCs roaming Kuttenberg.
  • Enhanced animations for drunk guards.
  • The ability to select multiple items at once for drying in the smokehouse.
  • Fixed a bug where a door in the 'Emperor Charles' tavern would get locked.
  • Horses can no longer enter and get stuck in Bozena's alchemy hut.
  • Increased the duration for which a stolen horse can remain in a trader's selling zone.
  • Shackled prisoners now react when stones are thrown at them.
  • Addressed a bug that caused Henry's reputation to decrease without reason.
  • Implemented adaptive UI, where interface elements appear only when needed (toggleable in settings).
  • Improved UI navigation for ultra-widescreen monitors.
  • Added support for Intel XeSS Super Resolution 2.0.
  • Numerous bug fixes and balance adjustments.

Warhorse Studios also confirmed that a third DLC, 'Mysteria Ecclesiae,' is planned for release later this year. This upcoming expansion will challenge players to investigate the mysteries of the Sedlec Monastery to prevent a deadly epidemic. All three DLCs are included as part of the Season Pass, which comes with the game's Gold Edition.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance II is currently available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series, featuring text localization in various languages, including Russian. The game continues to enjoy strong player reception, boasting a 'Very Positive' rating of 93% on Steam based on over 80,000 reviews.
