Hollow Knight: Silksong's First Patch Eases Early Game Difficulty

First Hollow Knight: Silksong Patch Reduces Early Game Challenge

Good news for players embarking on their journey through Pharloom: Team Cherry has announced the first post-launch patch for their highly anticipated game, Hollow Knight: Silksong. This initial update focuses on refining the player experience, particularly during the game's opening hours, and addressing several key issues.

Easing the Early Game

One of the primary goals of this patch is to make the initial stages of Silksong a bit more forgiving. Players will find that the early bosses, specifically Murwing and Sister Splinter, have had their difficulty slightly reduced. Additionally, the intimidating Sandcarvers will now deal less damage, offering a smoother challenge in combat encounters.

Beyond combat, the patch also introduces economic adjustments. The cost of using Bellstone Path fast travel stations and benches in the mid-game will be lowered, making progression slightly less taxing on resources. To further reward exploration and effort, the rewards for completing courier deliveries have been made more generous.

Addressing Bugs and Improving Stability

Alongside balance tweaks, Team Cherry has ironed out several bugs reported by players. A notable visual glitch where Hornet would appear without her cloak after certain escape sequences has been fixed. The 'Infestation Operation' quest can now be properly completed even at later stages of the playthrough, ensuring players won't miss out on its conclusion. Furthermore, an issue causing players to become stuck in the air after bouncing off specific projectiles has also been resolved, improving overall gameplay fluidity.

Availability and Future Plans

This debut post-release update is slated to arrive for Hollow Knight: Silksong across all platforms in the middle of next week, assuming no unforeseen complications arise. PC players eager to try out the changes immediately can already access the patch through a beta branch. On Steam, this involves locating Silksong in your library, right-clicking to select 'Properties,' then navigating to 'Betas,' and finally choosing 'Beta Participation' from the dropdown menu. It's important to note that this beta version may be unstable.

Players can also look forward to more improvements down the line, as Team Cherry has confirmed they are already working on a second patch, which will include further enhancements and fixes.

This first patch demonstrates Team Cherry's commitment to refining the Silksong experience, ensuring that more players can enjoy Hornet's adventure through Pharloom with a more balanced and polished start.
