Genki's Tokyo Xtreme Racer Leaves Early Access on September 25

Tokyo Xtreme Racer Prepares for Full Launch, Price Increase Incoming

Fans of high-octane street racing can mark their calendars: the arcade-style racer Tokyo Xtreme Racer is set to leave Early Access and fully launch on September 25. Developer Genki made the announcement, confirming the game's official release after a period of community-driven development.

The game, which immerses players in a futuristic rendition of Tokyo's night-time highways, first hit Early Access in January. Since then, the development team has significantly expanded the content, incorporating valuable feedback from its dedicated player base.

The full version promises a richer experience, including:
  • New vehicles to unlock and customize
  • A wider array of performance parts
  • An additional story chapter to explore
  • Fresh rivals to challenge on the neon-lit streets
The developers have also refined the game's balance to ensure races feel more dynamic and engaging.

Price Adjustment and Feature Changes

With the full release comes a price adjustment. Currently, Tokyo Xtreme Racer is available for $29.99 during its Early Access phase. Upon its official launch on September 25, the price will increase to $49.99. Players interested in purchasing the game should consider doing so before the price hike.

Not all news will be universally welcomed, however. Genki has confirmed that the replay function has been delayed, as resources were reallocated to expand the game's story campaign. Additionally, the developers have decided to remove the Steam Record Ranking system. This decision was made after the system proved vulnerable to cheating, with Genki prioritizing fair competition and a balanced experience for all players.

The Thrill of Night Racing

Tokyo Xtreme Racer brings players to the iconic night roads of the Japanese metropolis. A key feature of the game is its unique 'Spirit Point' contests. Rivals lose 'spirit points' for making mistakes and missteps, transforming each race into a tense battle of nerves and will, rather than just pure speed.

Players can look forward to:
  • Dozens of distinct opponents, each with their own unique cars and driving styles
  • An authentic Japanese street racing atmosphere
  • Precisely recreated Tokyo race tracks
Currently, the game is available exclusively on PC via Steam. There will be no Russian language support for Tokyo Xtreme Racer.

The official launch on September 25 means players can anticipate a more complete and polished version of the game, filled with new content and refined gameplay, as it speeds out of Early Access into the full release.
