Gearbox Unveils New Borderlands 4 Vault Hunter C4SH at Tokyo Game Show
Following the successful launch of Borderlands 4, developer Gearbox has given fans a first look at the game's upcoming downloadable content, including a brand-new playable character. During Tokyo Game Show 2025, the studio released a brief animated teaser for C4SH, one of two new Vault Hunters planned for future expansions.
C4SH is introduced as a former robo-dealer who left a life of casino dealings to pursue the thrill and freedom of being a Vault Hunter. True to Borderlands 4's character design, C4SH will feature three unique active skills, each with its own dedicated skill tree. This setup promises a wide array of build possibilities, allowing players to customize his playstyle extensively. While full details on his abilities are still under wraps, Gearbox has revealed that C4SH's gameplay revolves around luck, offering various effects such as enhancing allies and increasing damage output.
The Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned DLC Pack
C4SH will be a part of the first story expansion, titled Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, which is slated for release in the first quarter of 2026 (January to March). This content pack is included in the 'Vault Hunter's Pack,' a component of the game's Super Deluxe Edition, priced at $129.99. Players who prefer to purchase content individually will also have the option to buy each story pack separately. Gearbox has confirmed plans for a total of two story-focused DLC packs.
Beyond the introduction of C4SH, the Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned pack will expand the game world with a brand-new map zone, offering fresh narrative and side missions for players to undertake. It will also bring an assortment of legendary gear to collect and various cosmetic items to personalize characters.
Borderlands 4 is currently available on PC via Steam and Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. A release for the Nintendo Switch 2 is also planned for the future, ensuring a broad reach for the title. The game includes text localization for Russian-speaking players, among other languages.
The reveal of C4SH and the upcoming DLC signals Gearbox's commitment to expanding the Borderlands 4 universe. Players can look forward to new adventures, character builds, and plenty of fresh loot to chase in early 2026.
