Bloober Team Greenlights New Project After Cronos: The New Dawn Success

Bloober Team Working on New Game, Planning More Cronos Content

Bloober Team, the Polish studio behind horror titles like The Medium and the recently released Cronos: The New Dawn, has confirmed they are already hard at work on a new project. This news comes from an investor call with Bloober Team President Piotr Babieno and CFO Karolina Nowak, the transcript of which was published on StockWatch.

The company expects “significant profit” from Cronos: The New Dawn, with approximately 25% of the game's copies sold through Steam. This success bodes well for the future of the franchise, as Bloober Team intends to continue developing it.

What's Next for Bloober Team?

  • New Project in Development: The team responsible for Cronos: The New Dawn has already moved on to their next title. Interestingly, this new game is neither a direct sequel nor a DLC for Cronos, suggesting a fresh experience from the creative minds behind it. Despite this, Bloober Team is pleased with Cronos's performance and plans to expand the franchise further, hinting at future installments or related content.

  • Silent Hill 2 Remake Progress: Bloober Team currently employs around 250 staff, divided into two main groups. While one group focuses on the aforementioned new game, the other is dedicated to the highly anticipated Silent Hill 2 remake. This confirms that development on the remake is ongoing.

  • External Partnerships and Acquisition Interest: Beyond their internal projects, Bloober Team is also collaborating with external partners on five additional, as-yet-unannounced titles. The studio also noted that various companies have expressed interest in acquiring Bloober. Despite these offers, the studio has maintained its independence but remains open to potential proposals.

  • Addressing Silent Hill 2 Remake Optimization: Players have raised concerns about the optimization of the Silent Hill 2 remake, specifically for the PlayStation 5 Pro. When asked about these issues, Bloober Team’s leadership concisely stated that the “release of SH2R is managed by Konami,” indicating that the publisher is overseeing the technical aspects and release quality.

For players, this means a busy future for Bloober Team. While the Silent Hill 2 remake is moving forward, fans can also look forward to a brand-new game from the studio, plus potential expansions within the Cronos universe. The studio's commitment to both new ideas and established franchises, alongside external collaborations, suggests a diverse pipeline of horror experiences in the coming years.
