Ayasa: Shadows of Silence Sets September PC Release Date

Developer Aya Games has officially announced that their atmospheric horror platformer, Ayasa: Shadows of Silence, will release on PC via Steam on September 25th. Console players won't have to wait too long, as the game is also planned for a future launch on Xbox, PlayStation, and Nintendo Switch.

Ayasa: Shadows of Silence promises a blend of horror, adventure elements, and challenging puzzles. The game's narrative unfolds without traditional dialogue, relying instead on visual storytelling, expressive pantomime, and an emotional soundtrack to convey its deep themes.

A Journey Through a Shattered World

The story takes place in the 'Upside Down World,' a realm once held in perfect balance by the protector known as Tas. This harmony was shattered by war, allowing darkness to infest the lands with greed, betrayal, and indifference. Players will step into the shoes of the protagonist, Ayasa, who must navigate these twisted realities. Her quest is to find remnants of light within the spheres of Faith, Love, and Hope, in a desperate attempt to restore balance to her fractured world.

Innovative Gameplay and Art Direction

Gameplay in Ayasa: Shadows of Silence centers on exploring six symbolic lands, solving intricate puzzles, and mastering the interplay between light and shadow mechanics. Light is crucial for revealing new paths, activating ancient machinery, and pushing back the encroaching darkness. As players progress, they will unlock new abilities, which in turn open up more complex and diverse puzzle challenges. Every decision and action players make will influence the game’s multiple endings, offering a personalized experience.

The visual style of Ayasa: Shadows of Silence draws inspiration from renowned artists such as Tim Burton, René Laloux, Robert Sahakyants, and Hayao Miyazaki. Each level is crafted to feel like a living painting, featuring a minimalist yet expressive color palette where surrealism and noir aesthetics intertwine with deep symbolism. This artistic vision is complemented by a powerful soundtrack, creating an interactive silent film experience that aims to be both melancholic and haunting.

“This is not just a story about war, but a poetic journey into the depths of conscience, where the greatest battle takes place within each of us. We wanted to create a wordless experience where music, images, and the gameplay itself tell the story.”
– Edgar Janoyan, CEO of Aya Games

PC players can prepare to delve into the haunting world of Ayasa: Shadows of Silence this September, with console releases to follow. The developers have confirmed the game will include Russian text localization among other languages, ensuring a broad audience can immerse themselves in this unique and thought-provoking title.
