The Rogue Prince of Persia Exits Early Access, Arrives on Consoles
Developers Evil Empire, known for their work on Dead Cells, recently announced the full release of The Rogue Prince of Persia. This 2D roguelike has been in Steam Early Access since May 2024, but after just over a year, it has now officially launched its complete version.
The game is no longer exclusive to PC, having expanded its reach to consoles and the Game Pass library. The 1.0 version introduces significant new content for players to explore:
- Two brand-new biomes: The Port of Ctesiphon and the Besieged Palace.
- A climactic final boss encounter against King Nogai.
- The ultimate story act, where the Prince finally gets the chance to save his homeland and restore his tarnished honor.
Evil Empire currently has no immediate plans for major content updates, though they have indicated they might reconsider if the game proves to be exceptionally popular. For now, the focus will be on releasing hotfixes to address any minor issues players might discover.
The Rogue Prince of Persia is now available on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, Microsoft Store, and Ubisoft Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The game is also slated to arrive on Nintendo Switch and Nintendo Switch 2 before the end of the year. For Russian-speaking players, full text localization is included. The game has garnered a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 87% of over a thousand reviews being favorable.
This full launch means players can now experience the complete narrative and challenging gameplay that The Rogue Prince of Persia has to offer, from start to finish, across a wider range of platforms. It’s a significant moment for fans who have followed its Early Access journey and for new players eager to dive into this action-packed roguelike adventure.
