StarRupture Arrives Early 2026 After Successful Playtest
Creepy Jar, the studio behind the popular survival game Green Hell, has announced that their upcoming sci-fi survival title, StarRupture, will enter Early Access on January 6, 2026. This new game combines elements of base building, factory management, and open-world exploration, offering a unique blend for players.
The announcement follows a highly successful two-week open playtest held earlier this year, which saw an impressive 158,000 gamers participate. The playtest reached a peak concurrent player count of 6,701, with an overwhelmingly positive feedback rate of 91%. As a result, StarRupture has already accumulated over 500,000 wishlists on Steam.
Krzysztof Kwiatek, the head of Creepy Jar, noted that players particularly enjoyed the game's unusual mix of genres. He explained that the community's enthusiasm directly led to the decision to shift the Early Access release from autumn of this year to early 2026. This delay allows the development team extra time to polish every detail and ensure a high-quality experience for players.
Surviving on Arcadia-7: A Perilous Journey
In StarRupture, players find themselves on the desolate planet Arcadia-7, a world used by corporations to send convicts. Their primary goal is to construct factories and extract vital resources, all while facing the harsh realities of survival. Beyond hostile alien creatures and base raids, a more insidious threat looms: the local star, Ruptura, which can both 'give and take life.' The game blends deep crafting and building mechanics with intense combat and exploration, supporting both solo play and cooperative sessions with up to four players.
Creepy Jar has confirmed that the Early Access version of StarRupture will include most of the core mechanics, such as resource gathering, machine construction, and biome exploration. The full release will expand significantly, introducing new locations, enemies, buildable structures, and a dedicated story mode. The studio plans to maintain close communication with players throughout the Early Access period, actively gathering feedback via forums and social media. The Early Access phase is projected to last approximately one year. Pricing will remain consistent during Early Access and will see a slight increase upon the game's full launch.
Players can look forward to this challenging survival experience on PC via Steam, with text localization for Russian included. The successful playtest and the developers' commitment to polish suggest that StarRupture is shaping up to be a compelling addition to the survival genre, offering a unique twist on factory building and alien world exploration.
