Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era Shows Off Main Menu and New Music

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era Reveals Key Visuals and Soundtrack

Developer Unfrozen is diligently preparing Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era for its upcoming Early Access launch, and to keep the community engaged, they're periodically sharing new glimpses into the game. This time, the team decided to reveal the game's main menu along with a snippet of its primary musical theme.

The main menu screen features a striking visual: a castle engulfed in flames, with a dragon fiercely circling above, preventing the inferno from dying down. Accompanying this dramatic scene is an excerpt from the project's main musical theme. It's worth noting that the soundtrack for Olden Era is being composed by the legendary Paul Anthony Romero, an artist deeply connected with the iconic Heroes of Might and Magic series.

Fans were generally pleased with the composition, though some pointed out that parts of the melody sound similar to a track from Heroes of Might and Magic V. This subtle resemblance could be a deliberate nod to long-time fans of the franchise. However, commentators also suggested that the visual presentation of the main menu still needs work. Specifically, the buttons were mentioned as not quite fitting the overall aesthetic and requiring further polish.

Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era is set to arrive in Steam Early Access by the end of 2025. The game's text will include Russian localization. Previously, the developers have shared details on hero skills and subclasses, as well as information on how the revered Grail can be acquired in Olden Era through a special battle within a “Mirage” object.

The continuous updates provide a clearer picture of the game's direction and its atmosphere. While the music seems to hit the right nostalgic notes for many, the feedback on the menu visuals offers Unfrozen valuable input from the community, which is crucial for a successful Early Access period. Players can look forward to diving into this new fantasy strategy adventure relatively soon.
