Hell is Us Console Demo Arrives August 12 Following PC Trial

Fans eager to dive into the dark world of Hell is Us will soon have their chance on consoles. Developer Rogue Factor has announced that a demo for the intriguing action-adventure game will arrive on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series on August 12. This follows a successful PC demo period, which ran from June 2 to June 24, giving PC players an early look at what the game has to offer.

Set in the fictional country of Hedia, Hell is Us immerses players in a land ravaged by civil war and overrun by terrifying monsters. These creatures are the result of a mysterious catastrophe that has plunged the nation into chaos. Players step into the shoes of Remy, a protagonist who travels to Hedia from Canada, driven by the desperate search for his parents. His journey will not be easy, as he must piece together scarce clues to navigate the treacherous landscape.

A World Without Hand-Holding

The developers at Rogue Factor emphasize a unique approach to exploration and puzzle-solving. Hell is Us is designed as a semi-open world experience where traditional aids like minimaps and guiding arrows are absent. Instead, players will rely heavily on their own observation skills, wit, and ability to navigate the environment. Similarly, the game avoids intrusive hints for its puzzles, pushing players to think critically and solve challenges without the constant nudges seen in titles like God of War Ragnarök.

Combat is also a key element of Hell is Us. Players will arm themselves with a variety of melee weapons, including swords, axes, and spears, to face the monstrous threats lurking in Hedia. The creators describe the combat system as neither a simplistic hack-and-slash nor a punishing 'soulslike' experience. Instead, it demands strategic use of your entire arsenal and abilities, requiring players to master their tools to survive.

Hell is Us is set to launch globally on September 4 for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series. The game will also feature text localization in Russian. The upcoming console demo provides a perfect opportunity for players to experience the game's challenging mechanics and atmospheric world firsthand before its full release later this year.
