DAVY x JONES Charts Course for Early Access on August 28
Developer PARASIGHT has announced that its action-packed shooter, DAVY x JONES, will launch into Steam Early Access on August 28. For the first "six days, six hours, and six minutes," the game will be available at a special price of $6.66.
A Tale of Vengeance and Unlikely Allies
DAVY x JONES plunges players into a unique pirate fantasy. The legendary pirate Davy Jones, betrayed, robbed, and beheaded, finds himself in the Locker – the afterlife for sailors. But death is just the beginning of his epic quest for revenge. Players will control Jones's headless body, forming an unusual alliance with his stubborn skull, Davy, to reclaim stolen artifacts and confront his arch-nemesis, Blackbeard.
The game's action unfolds across islands floating in the clouds, with players traversing the world aboard Abbey, a fascinating hybrid of a whale and a ship. As Davy and Jones, you'll battle infernal spawns, cursed souls, and monstrous creatures like the Kraken. Your arsenal includes a sword, a pistol, and even the skull itself, which seemingly plays a crucial role in combat.
Defeated enemies drop essence, which transforms into loot chests. Opening these chests grants rewards but also releases a dangerous monster, adding a layer of risk and reward to the gameplay loop.
Early Access Journey and Future Plans
Upon its Early Access launch, DAVY x JONES will feature core gameplay mechanics, several islands to explore, essential gear, a variety of enemies, diverse abilities, and cinematic finishing moves. The developers plan to introduce new islands, legendary monsters, upgrades, mechanics, and secrets throughout the Early Access period. The full story of Davy and Jones will also be completed during this phase.
The game's price is expected to gradually increase as more content and updates are rolled out. The full 1.0 release is currently slated for late 2026, with plans to launch on unspecified consoles in addition to PC. It's worth noting for international players that the game will not support Russian language at launch.
