Bethesda Confirms Second Starfield DLC and Major Game Improvements

Starfield's Future: DLC and Major Updates Confirmed

Nearly a year after the release of Starfield's first expansion, news of a second DLC has been scarce. Bethesda Game Studios had previously indicated a plan to release one expansion annually, a promise the studio is nearing to break. However, a recent video from Bethesda offers a glimmer of hope, reaffirming that new content is on the horizon.

The video, primarily a career spotlight on Lead Creative Producer Tim Lamb, briefly touched upon the future of Starfield towards its end, much to the excitement of fans. Lamb confirmed that players can look forward to several key additions and improvements:

  • Updates featuring highly requested community features.
  • A new story-driven DLC.
  • Enhanced space gameplay, aiming to make interstellar travel feel more rewarding.
  • New game systems and several other 'small pleasantries'.

Specific release dates for these updates remain unknown. While details are still scarce, Bethesda has been dropping hints. Todd Howard confirmed the second DLC's development in June 2024. Additionally, Bethesda has previously teased that 'something amazing' is planned for 2025, though specifics are still under wraps. The plot of the upcoming expansion is also a mystery, but the title might already be known: a year ago, the studio registered the trademark 'Starborn'.

Currently, Starfield is available on PC (via Steam and Microsoft Store) and Xbox Series X|S. While it doesn't offer official Russian language support, rumors suggest the space RPG could make its way to PlayStation 5 in spring 2026, potentially alongside the next major DLC. This continued support signals Bethesda's commitment to evolving Starfield, addressing player feedback, and expanding its universe for years to come.
