Ready or Not Reaches New Sales Milestone on Consoles
Tactical first-person shooter Ready or Not has achieved a significant sales milestone, with its console versions on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series collectively selling over 2 million copies. This impressive figure comes just two weeks after the game's launch on July 15th, despite the PC version recently facing criticism due to censorship changes.
The game's console debut has been remarkably successful, reaching 1 million sales in less than four days – a pace roughly ten times faster than its initial performance on PC. The updated sales figures were personally announced by VOID Interactive CEO Julio Rodriguez on his LinkedIn page, where he expressed gratitude to the community and the development team.
“First, thanks to gamers for coming, actively playing, and bringing order to chaos. Also, thanks to the VOID development team for creating what we believe is the quintessence of all the best in modern tactical first-person shooters, and our friends and partners for helping port RoN to consoles.”
— Julio Rodriguez, CEO of VOID Interactive
While the console versions celebrate a clear financial success, the PC version of Ready or Not has recently seen its reputation decline. Recent reviews on Steam remain 'mostly negative,' with only 26% positive feedback, and the game's overall rating has dropped to 77%. This downturn on PC has largely been attributed to recent changes concerning content censorship.
The console sales triumph suggests a strong demand for tactical shooters on these platforms, and VOID Interactive has clearly tapped into that market effectively. This success could pave the way for more content and support for the console versions of Ready or Not, ensuring a robust future for players on PlayStation and Xbox, even as the PC version navigates its own challenges.
