Assassin's Creed Shadows Patch 1.0.7 Adds New Game Plus and Higher Level Cap

Massive Update 1.0.7 Arrives for Assassin's Creed Shadows

Ubisoft has just released Patch 1.0.7 for Assassin's Creed Shadows, marking one of the most substantial updates since the game's launch. This patch delivers on the highly anticipated New Game+ mode, raises the maximum player level and knowledge rank, introduces fresh gear, enhances the Animus system, implements dozens of fixes, and adds three new achievements.

New Game Plus: Eight New Journeys Await

Players can now embark on fresh playthroughs of Assassin's Creed Shadows while retaining all their hard-earned skills, equipment, allies, and hideout progress. Once you've completed the main story as Naoe, Yasuke, and Junjiro, the option to begin 'New Game+' will unlock in the Animus menu. The game allows for up to eight repeated playthroughs, with each run increasing in difficulty. Enemies become more formidable, demanding greater mastery of both Shinobi and Samurai skills. As a reward for completing a New Game+ run, players will receive two legendary golden katanas with unique perks: one long and one standard.

Reaching New Heights: Level 80 and Knowledge Rank 10

Ubisoft has raised the character's maximum level from 60 to 80, giving players more room for growth. Additionally, two new Knowledge Ranks, 9 and 10, have been introduced. This expansion allows players to unlock new passive abilities and combat skills, further enhancing the prowess of both Naoe and Yasuke. These improvements will be crucial for taking on the more challenging enemies that now feature advanced AI. The forge can also now be upgraded to Level 4, enabling players to upgrade their gear to its absolute maximum potential.

Unraveling Animus Rifts and Project Mnemosyne

The update invites players to explore anomalous zones within the Animus. In these areas, the system distorts genetic information, creating unique tasks and puzzles. A new quest called 'Chained' becomes available after unlocking Yasuke and completing the 'From Spark to Flame' mission. Furthermore, a new initiative, Project Mnemosyne, has opened within the Animus control center. Players can collect data fragments and complete anomalies to unlock exclusive themed gear and weaponry.

Balance Changes, Improvements, and Bug Fixes

Beyond the major additions, the developers have also implemented a range of other significant changes and fixes:

  • Increased the health of allies and the overall difficulty of Ronin enemies.
  • Adjusted the in-game economy for trading and crafting.
  • Reworked many passive skills to ensure they now function as intended.
  • Resolved various bugs that caused characters to become stuck in environmental elements like rocks, walls, and warehouses.
  • Improved visual effects, the user interface, and overall localization.

New Trophies for Dedicated Players

The patch also introduces three new achievements for trophy hunters to pursue:

  • 'Enjoy the Ride' – Reach character Level 80.
  • 'Stars Unseen' – Attain Knowledge Rank 10.
  • 'Worth its Wait' – Obtain both golden katanas.

Players can dive into New Game+ and begin hunting for these fresh achievements right now on PC (via Steam, Epic Games Store, and Ubisoft Connect), Xbox Series X|S, and PlayStation 5. This update offers a compelling reason for veterans to revisit feudal Japan and for new players to look forward to even more content in their journey.
