Riot Games' 2XKO Fighting Game Adds Blitzcrank Ahead of PC Beta

Riot Games' 2XKO Fighting Game Adds Blitzcrank Ahead of PC Beta

Blitzcrank Joins the Fight in Riot Games' 2XKO

Riot Games is ramping up excitement for its upcoming free-to-play fighting game, 2XKO (formerly known as Project L), with the latest reveal of a fan-favorite character joining the roster. Ahead of its closed beta, the powerful steam golem, Blitzcrank, has been officially announced as a playable fighter.

Originally designed in the world of League of Legends as an automaton for hazardous waste disposal, Blitzcrank in 2XKO is all about disposing of his opponents in the ring. The new trailer showcases his formidable combat style, heavily relying on his massive, heavy arms and full-body attacks. He also utilizes Hextech technology, a magical-mechanical hybrid, which was reportedly installed into him by the brilliant inventor Viktor, giving him unique abilities for the arena.

2XKO PC Beta Kicks Off in September

Players eager to try out Blitzcrank, alongside other previously confirmed champions like Ahri and Jinx, will get their chance during the closed beta test. This exclusive beta is set to kick off on September 9th and will be available only on PC. Applications to participate are still open for those wishing to get an early look at the game.

In a notable move, Riot Games plans to keep the 2XKO beta servers active even after the initial testing period concludes. This is a departure from their usual practice and will ensure continuous play until the game's full launch, allowing players more time to master their chosen champions.

Full Release Planned for 2025

The full release of 2XKO is slated for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S platforms, with Riot aiming for a launch sometime before the end of 2025.

The addition of Blitzcrank further diversifies 2XKO's growing roster, promising a dynamic and engaging fighting experience. With the unique decision to maintain beta servers post-testing and the ongoing character reveals, Riot Games is clearly building anticipation and providing ample opportunity for players to dive into the world of Runeterra's champions in this new fighting format. This approach signals a strong commitment to player engagement and continuous development leading up to the game's full release.
