Bloodborne Remake Still Not in Development, Insider Confirms

No Bloodborne Remake in the Works, Insider Reports

Long-suffering fans of the acclaimed PlayStation 4 title, Bloodborne, may need to temper their expectations once again. Despite persistent rumors and fervent community wishes, it appears a remake of the 2015 action RPG is still not in active development.

This disappointing news comes from well-known industry insider Jeff Grubb. Speaking on the Game Mess podcast, Grubb shared that he recently re-checked the status of a potential Bloodborne remake or PC port. His findings were consistent with previous reports: "Nothing is happening with Bloodborne, don't expect news." This update is a blow to players who eagerly anticipate an announcement at every State of Play event, hoping for a modernized version or a release beyond PlayStation.

The situation is further complicated by the fact that Sony Interactive Entertainment holds the intellectual property rights to the Bloodborne franchise. This means any decision regarding a remake, a sequel, or a port rests entirely with Sony. Without their green light, development simply cannot begin.

The community's intense desire for more Bloodborne content was recently highlighted by the announcement of The Duskbloods for Nintendo Switch 2. Many fans initially mistook early footage of The Duskbloods for a Bloodborne sequel due to its similar dark atmosphere and enemy design, only for those hopes to be quickly dashed. This confusion underscores just how eager players are for any news related to the gothic masterpiece.

For now, it seems fans will have to continue waiting, with no immediate prospects for a return to the streets of Yharnam on new hardware. While the passion for Bloodborne remains strong, current information suggests that any potential remake or new installment is a distant dream.
