Stick It to the Stickman Launches into Early Access on August 18th

Get Ready for Office Chaos: Stick It to the Stickman Arrives August 18th

Get ready to climb the corporate ladder by any means necessary! Devolver Digital and Free Lives have announced that their incredibly energetic beat 'em up, Stick It to the Stickman, is set to launch into Early Access on Steam this August 18th. This game promises a unique blend of absurd violence and career progression, turning players from simple office workers into ultimate engines of corporate domination.

What is Stick It to the Stickman?

In Stick It to the Stickman, you transform from a small cog in the corporate machine into a force of ultraviolence on your path to the top. The game offers hundreds of combat moves, ridiculous tasks, and laugh-out-loud physics as you fight for survival in a world where everyone wants to be CEO. It cleverly mixes elements of a platformer, action game, roguelike, and even strategy. You aren't just surviving; you're carving your own path upwards, 'optimizing' everything and everyone who stands in your way.

Early Access Vision and Content Plans

Free Lives isn't shy about their ambitious goal for the game: Stick It to the Stickman won't be truly complete 'until every billionaire dies.' This sets the tone for the game's satirical and over-the-top nature.

During the Early Access period, players can expect:

  • Monthly Updates: Free Lives plans to roll out major updates every month for approximately a year.
  • Community Involvement: Developers are keen to involve the community, inviting players to suggest new attacks, classes, and even game mechanics. They promise to 'literally follow your orders,' indicating a truly collaborative development process.
  • Current Content: The Early Access version currently features 6 to 10 hours of main content, 20 distinct classes, and 4 game modes. Players can also look forward to the endless, replayable chaos typical of roguelike games.

The full version of Stick It to the Stickman is planned to be significantly larger, introducing new corporate locations within the corporation, such as production lines, marketing departments, a science center, the corporate lobby, and even a doomsday bunker. Each new position and location will bring unique gameplay challenges, pushing you closer to the story's conclusion.

Gameplay, Platforms, and Pricing

Stick It to the Stickman supports various playstyles. You can go it alone in single-player, team up with a friend on the same screen for local co-op, or use Steam's Remote Play to battle armies of red stickmen and power-hungry company bosses. Initially, the game will only be available on PC via Steam, but if it proves successful, a console release is definitely a possibility.

Free Lives has also announced that the price of Stick It to the Stickman will increase as more content is added throughout the Early Access phase. This means jumping in early could be a cost-effective way to experience the unfolding office apocalypse. The developers aim to keep the game in Early Access for at least until 2026, with an estimated development period of 12 months for the full release. A specific date for the full launch has not yet been set.

For those eager to get a taste of the action, a new demo is currently available for download on Steam. This is a great opportunity to try out the game before its Early Access debut and see what makes Free Lives a studio known for quality and engaging titles, as praised by fans of their previous works like Broforce and Anger Foot.
