Starfinder: Afterlight Announced as First Party RPG Adaptation

Starfinder Universe Gets Its First Party-Based RPG Video Game

Independent Spanish studio Epictellers Entertainment has announced their debut project, Starfinder: Afterlight. This highly anticipated title marks the very first video game adaptation of Paizo’s beloved Starfinder tabletop RPG universe, bringing its unique blend of science fiction and cosmic techno-fantasy to a new digital realm.

In Starfinder: Afterlight, players will assemble a diverse crew of heroes to explore the far reaches of the stars. The gameplay features turn-based battles built upon the rich Starfinder 2nd Edition ruleset, promising a faithful yet innovative take on the tabletop experience.

Key Features Revealed:

  • A non-linear story offering between 40 to 60 hours of gameplay.
  • Six unique companions, each with their own stories and personalities.
  • Professional voice acting, with direction by Neil Newbon, renowned for his role as Astarion in Baldur’s Gate III.
  • Multiple difficulty settings, ranging from easy exploration to tactical nightmare.
  • An original soundtrack composed by Eduardo de la Iglesia.
  • Official modding support, including comprehensive tools for the community to create and share their own content.

The narrative of Starfinder: Afterlight throws players into a desperate situation: the galaxy faces destruction, a captain has gone missing, and an apocalypse looms. Players will gather a team of outcasts from distant worlds and strive to become legends in this single-player party-based RPG.

The game emphasizes a story-driven adventure where player choices truly matter and carry significant consequences. Actions will be remembered by factions, companions will judge your deeds, and branching storylines ensure that no two playthroughs will be exactly alike. From neon-lit space stations to worlds of the undead, and from digital gods to cosmic dragons, players will explore the diverse Pact Worlds, a universe where magic and technology seamlessly intertwine.

Ricard Pillosu, Co-founder and CEO of Epictellers Entertainment, shared his excitement: “We are incredibly happy to introduce Starfinder: Afterlight in partnership with Paizo. This is the beginning of a journey we want to undertake with Starfinder fans. We can’t wait to share more about the ragtag crew traveling through the Pact Worlds, full of dangers and adventures.”

Starfinder: Afterlight is set to launch into Steam Early Access sometime in 2026. To help complete the project, the developers plan to launch a Kickstarter campaign in the near future. Fans eager for more details should mark their calendars, as a dedicated presentation revealing more about the title is scheduled for October 2nd.
