Get Ready for Potential PlayStation News
Gaming journalist Jeff Grubb has hinted that Sony is preparing for its next major presentation, likely a State of Play event, towards the end of September. Grubb shared this insight during the Game Mess Mornings podcast, suggesting that players won't have to wait much longer for fresh announcements from PlayStation.
According to Grubb, Sony is aiming for either a State of Play or a larger PlayStation Showcase by the end of September. He believes a State of Play is the more probable scenario. "They're planning a State of Play or Showcase (more likely a State of Play) for the end of September or before the end of September. So we'll hear news from Sony soon," Grubb stated.
For those who closely follow Sony's activities, this news may not come as a surprise. Sony has a consistent track record of holding State of Play presentations in September every year since the initiative began in 2019. This makes a late September event a well-established pattern for the company.
Previous September State of Play events have delivered significant announcements. For example, last year's September show revealed the highly anticipated follow-up to Ghost of Tsushima, titled Ghost of Yōtei, along with a remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn and other titles. The most recent general State of Play aired in June, while a more focused stream in July was dedicated solely to showcasing gameplay from Ghost of Yōtei.
This potential September State of Play means players can look forward to new game reveals, updates on previously announced titles, and perhaps a glimpse at what's next for the PlayStation ecosystem. Keep an eye out for official confirmation from Sony as the end of September approaches.
