Helldivers 2 Launches Major Terminid Counter-Attack with 'Into the Unjust'
Fans of Helldivers 2 have been enjoying a steady stream of new content, and Arrowhead Game Studios is set to deliver even more. A significant update, titled 'Into the Unjust,' is on the horizon, focusing on a massive counter-offensive against the relentless Terminid insect threat. This update will be followed closely by a new premium Warbond, 'The Dust Devils.'
With Xbox Series owners now joining the fight for managed democracy, Super-Earth's government is marshaling its forces to finally crush the vile Terminid menace. As the developers declared, "Too long we have allowed the Terminids to devastate our colonies, our cities, our homes! Terminids have been rampant on our land long enough!" Brave Helldivers are now tasked with venturing into the Terminids' home worlds, stepping into thick clouds of ominous Darkness to strike at the very heart of the enemy. Deep within these planets lies a labyrinth of tunnels where the usual support from your Destroyer will be significantly diminished.
New Threats Emerge from the Darkness
The treacherous fogs of the Darkness conceal even more dangerous Terminid variants. Helldivers should prepare to face the dreaded Bile Spewers and Chargers, which now possess the ability to burrow underground. Upon sensing a threat, they will disappear beneath the surface and rapidly move towards their prey, bursting forth from the ground to launch a surprise attack. Additionally, new flying Terminids will pose a serious airborne threat, diving down on unsuspecting Helldivers to unleash a torrent of hot bile.
Challenging New Mission Objectives
The hive worlds will introduce fresh challenges, including escorting mobile oil rigs. Defenders must protect these crucial assets from waves of Terminids as they move along their route to new drilling sites. In the subterranean passages, Helldivers will also need to destroy what are known as "Hive Lungs" – vital structures that contribute to the spread of the Darkness, aiming to halt its advance and reclaim territory for Super-Earth.
Gear Up with 'The Dust Devils' Warbond
To aid in this critical fight against the Terminids, appropriate gear will be available through the premium 'The Dust Devils' Warbond. This comprehensive package includes:
- A powerful new primary weapon
- An innovative new throwable projectile
- Three unique stratagems designed to help clear the skies and eradicate bugs from the hive worlds. For instance, Helldivers can call in devastating napalm bombs.
Furthermore, new armor sets featuring the "Desert Trooper" passive bonus will be available. This bonus grants Helldivers increased resistance to fire, gas, acid, and electricity, alongside an extended throwing range. Capes, emotes, and other cosmetic items will also be part of this new Warbond.
The 'Into the Unjust' update is scheduled to arrive on September 2 for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The accompanying 'The Dust Devils' Warbond will become available shortly after, on September 4. Prepare your drop pods, Helldivers – the fight for democracy intensifies!
