Demonschool Release Delayed to November, Citing Hollow Knight: Silksong Competition

Demonschool Pushes Launch to November, Joins Games Avoiding Silksong's Shadow

The highly anticipated tactical JRPG, Demonschool, developed by Necrosoft Games, will now launch on November 19, 2025, rather than its original September 3, 2025 date. This delay, announced by publisher Ysbryd Games, is a direct response to the looming release of Team Cherry's highly anticipated metroidvania, Hollow Knight: Silksong, which is set to arrive just one day after Demonschool's initial launch date.

Ysbryd Games released a statement explaining the difficult decision to push back Demonschool. With 11 years of experience as an indie publisher, Ysbryd stated that the current market conditions for game releases are exceptionally challenging. The proximity of Silksong's launch made the situation even more critical, as it would severely impact Demonschool's visibility.

“We, as a publisher, have to understand that increasing awareness for Demonschool is our main goal,” Ysbryd Games explained. “Thus, the Ysbryd team is firmly convinced that we would not be doing our game any service by wading into waters that we clearly see are blood-red in color. Since September has become Silksong's month, we need to move to a different period to give Demonschool the opportunity to reach as many players as possible.”

The publisher assured fans that this decision was not made lightly, especially since Demonschool has already faced previous delays. They confirmed that the game is technically complete and ready for release, with review copies already sent to the press. Ysbryd Games hopes that fans eagerly awaiting the title will forgive this final postponement.

The extra time before the November release will not go to waste. Necrosoft Games plans to use this period to further polish and improve the gameplay experience. This includes adding content that was originally slated for post-launch updates, such as more endings and mini-games. Now, these additions will be available as part of the main game when it launches.

Demonschool is set to release on PC (Steam), PlayStation consoles, Xbox consoles, and Nintendo Switch. There are currently no plans for Russian localization. This move by Necrosoft Games and Ysbryd Games highlights the significant impact that a major indie release like Hollow Knight: Silksong can have on the wider gaming industry, as developers strategically adjust their schedules to find their own space in a crowded market.
