Capcom Reveals New Pragmata Gameplay at ChinaJoy 2025

Capcom Shares Fresh Look at Pragmata Gameplay

At the recent ChinaJoy 2025 exhibition, Capcom offered a new glimpse into the long-awaited science fiction action game, Pragmata. Attendees were treated to a 7-minute gameplay demonstration of the third-person title, which was initially announced back in 2020.

Pragmata's development journey has seen its share of challenges. The game experienced multiple delays, largely due to complications stemming from the global pandemic. In 2023, its release was postponed indefinitely. However, just a couple of months ago, developers presented a new trailer and confirmed a new release window, rekindling anticipation among fans.

Story and Gameplay Mechanics

At its core, Pragmata tells the compelling story of astronaut Hugh and a young android girl named Diana. Together, they must team up to fight against a hostile artificial intelligence on a moon station. The game's mechanics bear a resemblance to Capcom's own Resident Evil series, blending intense action sequences with intricate puzzles.

One interesting gameplay mechanic highlighted is the combat against mechanical enemies. To inflict increased damage, players will first need to solve a small hacking puzzle, adding a strategic layer to the action-packed encounters.

Release Information and Demo Opportunity

Pragmata is currently in development for PC (via Steam), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. Capcom has also confirmed that the game will feature full Russian localization. Players can look forward to the game's official launch in 2026.

For those eager to get their hands on Pragmata sooner, a demo version will be available to play at gamescom 2025 in Cologne, Germany. The exhibition runs from August 20th to August 24th this year, offering a chance for attendees to experience the game firsthand.

Community Reaction

Early impressions from viewers of the gameplay footage have been mixed. While many appreciated the detailed visuals, some expressed concerns regarding animation quality, describing character movements as somewhat stiff or jerky. There is also hope among players that the overall gameplay pace, especially during action sequences, will become more dynamic as the game progresses towards its final release.
