Eremite Games, the studio behind the critically acclaimed fantasy city-builder Against the Storm, has officially launched its second major expansion, titled Nightwatchers. This new DLC brings a wealth of fresh content, building upon the game's unique blend of roguelite and city-building mechanics.
The Nightwatchers expansion introduces several key additions designed to deepen the gameplay experience:

The expansion adds two distinct new environments:- Rocky Crags: A challenging biome featuring a black market and dangerous bandits, adding an element of risk and reward.
- Bamboo Thicket: Characterized by constant rain and remarkably fertile lands, this biome allows for increased crop yields through the use of Furclaw fertilizers.
- New World Modifiers and Events
Players will encounter three new world map modifiers, each presenting unique challenges and limitations. Additionally, three new world events will test their skills:- Clashes with a powerful criminal organization.
- Perilous alchemical experiments.
- Battles against a tree-devouring monster.
- More Content to Discover
The DLC also expands the game with three new legendary keystones, sixteen new acts, six new decorations, and twenty-seven fresh music compositions to enrich the atmosphere.
Free Content Update 1.8 Also Released
Alongside the paid expansion, Eremite Games has released a free content update, Version 1.8, for all players. This update includes:
- A new building: The Community Hall, where settlers can fulfill various needs such as prayer and rest.
- New visual styles for existing buildings, themed after the new Bat settlements.
- The ability to acquire additional blueprints and building slots once players reach Prestige Level 12.
- An option to prioritize event rewards in fields, offering more control over resource management.
- Various general improvements to gameplay systems, enhancing the overall experience.
These new additions from both the Nightwatchers DLC and the 1.8 update promise to bring even more strategic depth and replayability to Against the Storm.
